Healthiest way to eat

There are so many different diets around these days, and all of us are probably wondering what is best...low carb, high carb, low fat, etc.

Well, it's been documented thousands of times that a Balanced Diet is best. Some of thie things to look for to make this happen are things like eating an abundant array of colors in your diet, having everything in moderation and making sure you eat from all 4 food groups.

Well, that said, I have another way to easily make your diet a healthy one...eat foods without bar codes! That's right. The best food at the grocery store is food without bar codes - fruits, veggies, natural meats, etc.

Now, with the modern-day age of packaging the way it is, our meat is now mostly bar coded, but stick to the bar codes put on by the in-store meat department. Also, dairy often comes with a bar code, but to be honest, I've learned that store purchased yogurt (even the best, organic kind) is still not as good for you as homemade. By the way, it's easy to make homemade yogurt with the Dovier Yogurt maker sold affordably thru Amazon.com. As for cheese, stick to store bought (I haven't found an easy way to make homemade cheese, sorry) but again, like the meat, purchase cheeses that have a bar code put on by the store or the cheesmonger, not a huge processing factory like Kraft. As for milk, purchase organic...it may be barcoded, but numerous studies suggest organic milk has more vitamins and minerals in it than regular dairy milk.

A few other 'healthy' foods that unfortunately come barcoded these days are beans, rice, nuts and grains. However, due to the short shelf life of these products, I recommend buying them in in-store bulk departments where you will fortunately, find food without bar codes!

If you follow this easy to follow advice, you'll be amazed how much yummier your food is and how much healthier you are eating, almost instantly.

Enjoy!
